LGBTI refugees and people seeking asylum: Panel discussion

The Victorian AIDS Council invites you to a forum with a panel of experts who will discuss issues of detention, asylum claims and service provision, as they relate to LGBTI refugees and people seeking asylum.

Free drinks and finger food will be available in the Community Room from 6.00 to 6.40pm.

The panel discussion will begin in the Performance Space* at 6.45pm.

The panel will be moderated by Roj Amedi (Human Rights Advocate).

Panellists include:

  • Lee Carnie (Lawyer, Human Rights Law Centre),
  • Alice McBurney (Gender Lawyer, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre), and
  • David Mejia-Canales (Co-author of theSomething for Them report).
