Mental Health First Aid Course
The Standard MHFA course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis, as well as:
- Learning the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health conditions
- Where and how to get professional help
- What sort of support has been shown to be effective
- And how to provide first aid in a mental health crisis
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance misuse. Mental health crisis situations of suicidal thoughts and behaviour, self harm, panic attacks, traumatic events and psycotic states will also be covered.
Date: Tuesday, 10 and Wednesday, 11 July
Time: 10.00 am to 4.00pm (both days)
Venue: Suite J, 450 Chapel Street, South Yarra
Cost: $190. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided on both days.
Course attendees receive a standard MHFA manua and Certificate of Completion.
