Soroptimist International of Geelong’s Annual International Women's Day Breakfast
Soroptimist International of Geelong's Annual International Women's Day Breakfast will be held at Capri Receptions, 258 Pakington St, Geelong West at 7.00am for a 7.30am start.
Gail Rogers will be an inspirational speaker as her passion in life is Volunteering.
She has lived in Ocean Grove for 25 years and her career has taken her on a journey into a variety of positions from the Airline industry to Ford before she moved into Community Development work.
The highlight of her six years at Ford included the development and
implementation of their Indigenous Employment Program which saw the employment of over 30 indigenous people.
In 2006 she moved into volunteering & community development.
She was the Manager at ‘Volunteering Geelong’ where she developed the pilot ‘Step by Step Volunteer Mentor Program’ to support people with disabilities to become volunteers.
In 2016 she was appointed CEO of Geelong Community Foundation, an organisation that provides grants to diverse local projects and programs.
She is a Board member of the ‘Read the Play’ - the organisation is based on breaking down the blockers known to be preventing young people from actively seeking assistance with mental health issues.
She still finds time to be Chairperson at the Ocean Grove Community Support Register, play golf enjoy a good coffee and walk her dog on the beach.
