VicHealth Active Club Grants 2017-18 - Supporting Female Participation
In 2017, VicHealth’s Active Club Grants will provide funding to increase the opportunities Victorians have to participate in community sport clubs.
The funding will prioritise two outcome areas:
VicHealth funding is available to support clubs to implement initiatives that will engage more women and girls in sport.
Almost half as many women take part in organised sport compared to men, and women are most likely to stop playing sport as teenagers.
VicHealth encourage clubs to think about how you can offer more opportunities for female participation, including:
- new teams
- new competitions
- new programs.
VicHealth is inviting Victoria’s community sporting clubs to address these factors by either creating new sport opportunities or by implementing, within your own club, an existing program created by a State or National sporting organisation.
