G21 Measuring Impact - Evaluation Action Plan

A collaborative project and training opportunity has been developed to strengthened partners and showcase local best practice projects.

Measuring the social impact of the numerous programs across the region has been identified as a priority area for action. G21 has taken the lead to source opportunities for education and development of a shared ‘Evaluation Action Plan’.

The Evaluation Action Plan will be designed for use across the G21 region, and across projects to deliver informed and best practice models of measuring social impact.

Therefore, this project aims to deliver a shared regional ‘Evaluation Action Plan’ to assist and inform partner agencies in program design, delivery and evaluation, now and into the future.

Intended Outcomes

  • Support quality project design and development
  • Support the development of common ‘Evaluation Action Plan’, that can be used across projects and agencies
  • To develop a data set of local project and programs that share an evaluation methodology and vision
  • To develop ongoing training
  • Provide opportunity for partnership projects and collaboration
  • To provide regional and place based evidence of ‘successful’ projects to support funding opportunities

Project Update (March 2017)

  • Logic Model - Phase 1 delivered 21st and 22nd of July 2016. Training facilitated by Dr. Helen Jordan
  • Shared Measurement - Phase 2 delivered 11th & 12th August 2016. Training facilitated by Dr. Tahna Pettman

Since the successful training and development was held, a number of organisations have completed their projects and evaluated their effectiveness.
A framework “How to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Your Project” is a useful tool for agencies when considering their impacts and evaluation methods for specific projects.
The Methods (How) provides a suite of options that you can tailor for your own needs.
It is proposed that future training and development opportunities be provided over the next 12 months. Good luck with your projects and keep reviewing the web-site for more information.
