Spreading the Message Resource Kit - Aboriginal Reconciliation (2014-15)

The Spreading the Message project offered young people in the G21 region a platform to contribute towards reconciliation, with an aim to improve community connectedness and social inclusion of people from all backgrounds.

Refugee & Asylum Seeker Advocacy and engagement (2015)

The G21 Refugee and Asylum Seeker group is committed to strengthening collaboration and integration across organisations in order to maximise health & wellbeing outcomes. MORE

G21 Refugee Week Campaign (2015)

For the second consecutive year, the G21 Refugee and Asylum Seeker Group coordinated a social media campaign in support of Refugee Week (14-20 June).
The campaign centred around the use of the hashtag: #G21RefugeeWeek MORE

Violence Against Women and Children Forum (2015)

The stark reality of family violence and its all-to-often tragic impacts on innocent women and children was the focus of the G21 Health & Wellbeing Pillar’s Violence Against Women & Children Partner Forum held on Wednesday, 22 July 2015.

'The Economic Value of Volunteering in the G21 Region' Strategy (2014)

In 2014, The Economic Value of Volunteering in the G21 Region Strategy was produced which heightens awareness of the significant contribution volunteers make to the local economy and provides individual agencies, clubs and organisations with evidence with which to advocate to government authorities and funding bodies MORE

Access G21 (2014)

Access G21 project activities will engage people from various groups to develop consistent access standards across the community's built and natural environments.
PLEASE NOTE: Access G21 is dependent on acquiring additional external funding. Once funding has been secured, further updates will follow. MORE

Refugee & Asylum Seeker Policy & Advocacy Group (2014)

The Refugee and Asylum Seeker Policy and Advocacy Working Group is working to improve community connectedness and social inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers in the G21 region. MORE

Disability Inclusion Partnership (2012-14)

The Disability Inclusion Partnership formed in 2011 to advocate for an integrated approach to improve opportunities for young people with a disability in the G21 region. MORE

Belonging and Connecting (2014)

The award-winning ‘Belonging and Connecting’ multi-media project was created to motivate people with disabilities to connect and participate in their communities. The project produced a series of vignette’s promoting the stories of nine amazing young people with disabilities who have successfully integrated into their local communities. The vignettes showcase their strength and determination and the positive contributions they are making. MORE

"Dirt Doesn’t Hurt" (2012)

The G21 region became part of a growing international movement aimed at boosting kids’ mental wellbeing through increased outdoor activity with reduced direct adult supervision. The campaign targeted the parents of children aged up to 8 years, encouraging families to create a list of experiences they wished their children to have before they reached age 8. MORE

Young Men and Problem Gambling (2012)

Young men aged between 15-25 years have been identified as a cohort that are at significant risk of developing a gambling problem. A series of resources have been completed to provides a number of useful tips on signs to look out for in a friend's behavior if they are concerned about their gambling, as well as possible steps to take if they wish to try and assist their mates to seek help. Freedom From Discrimination Action Group (2011)

The G21 Freedom from Discrimination Action Group was a partnership of organisations who worked to address discrimination and support the diversity of people within the G21 region. The Action Group produced a number of resources to assist people who were affected by discrimination. MORE

Refugee Settlement and Health Care Pathways (2010)

The G21 Health & Wellbeing Pillar Refugee Health Project was a one-off initiative based on a pilot project run by WestBay Alliance and Brimbank / Melton Primary Care Partnership (PCP). The project aimed to support improved General Practitioner (GP) integration and service coordination for refugee clients. Funds were allocated to each of the 8 PCPs where Refugee Health Nurses were situated through the Primary Health Branch of the Victorian Department of Human Services (DHS) including Geelong and Colac. G21 Region Volunteering Strategy (2010)

The G21 Regional Volunteering Strategy (2012) provides direction for the future involvement and support of volunteers and volunteering in the G21 region, recognising that volunteering is central to a healthy and inclusive community for its future wellbeing and sustainability. MORE
