Coronavirus (COVID-19) and family violence

For many people, including victim survivors of #familyviolence, being at home is not always a safe place.

To support victim survivors during this period of #COVID19 self-isolation, Domestic Voiolence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) have worked with Domestic Violence Victoria to communicate the types of family violence that might occur and ways that people can stay safe and reach out for help over the coming months.

It is expect family violence incidents will increase as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We know this because of research and evidence that family violence can become more frequent and severe during periods of emergency.

Times of stress and hardship are never an excuse for violence. All people deserve to live free from fear and family violence.
